Alder Hey Children’s Hospital CAFM Mobilisation

Capitec have supported Mitie, the Hard FM Service Provider at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, with the remobilisation of their Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) System.

This project involved working closely with the Mitie team to utilise the output of an asset survey to develop a detailed, comprehensive and practical maintenance program within the CAFM.

The steps involved included:

  • identifying principle asset groups within the data
  • developing strategies for the assignment of planned maintenance based on the type and criticality of the asset
  • identifying the appropriate SFG 20 and HTM based maintenance requirements for the asset group
  • reviewing the operating and maintenance manuals to identify manufacturer recommendations for maintenance
  • creating bespoke maintenance instructions incorporating SFG 20 and HTM based maintenance requirements and where relevant manufacturer recommendations
  • assigning maintenance instructions to individual, parent and virtual assets

Throughout the project we worked closely with the team to ensure that the maintenance program developed was sufficient to cover all identified maintenance requirements and statutory, mandatory and contractual obligations while being designed to be practical and usable by the site team, avoiding unnecessary repetition of tasks and making use of ‘parent’ assets and ‘virtual’ assets where appropriate. This resulted in a comprehensive maintenance program covering approximately 20,000 maintainable assets and over 2800 planned maintenance tasks.
