Capitec are now supporting Higher Education (HE) Estates with compliance management
8 May, 2017
Many of the exemplar approaches and products we have developed over the last decade for managing statutory and mandatory compliance (Inc. industry best practice) for large/complex hospital sites, have a direct application for larger HE estates assets. HE estates can often have a very similar scale and compliance burden to that of an acute hospital estate (including but not limited to LEV systems, Laboratories, complex HV/LV infrastructure, MTHW/Steam systems, asbestos legacy, confined spaces, fire/life safety systems etc). We have now supported a major Russell Group institution with a range of compliance-related initiatives.
We initially undertook a Due Diligence Compliance Review (DDCR) to provide the estates senior management team with a ‘gap’ assessment of current Hard FM services offering. This has now been used to inform service development and to inform a suite of key compliance Standard Operating Procedures (SoP) that set out how the department is to manage a all major (estates) compliance areas – that will now form the basis of a new Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Quality management system.
